My jewelry is handcrafted to last a lifetime.  The materials used are typically precious metals and natural gemstones. Even so, proper care is required. Here are some simple guidelines and tips for the care and cleaning of your precious heirlooms. • Your jewelry should be the “last thing on, and first thing off”. Don’t shower with your jewelry on, or expose it to lotion, hairspray, make-up or perfume.

  • The more you wear your jewelry the less it will tarnish, as our natural body oils keep it from exposure. So wear it often!

  • Always store your jewelry in a clean, dry, secure place. Air, humidity and exposure to chemicals (such as glues or varnish used in wood jewelry boxes) will tarnish silver jewelry. Store with an anti-tarnish strip for extra protection in a fabric pouch.

  • Never hang your jewelry for storage, this weakens chains and can distort the shape. It is best to organize your jewelry in separate dividers laying flat. When traveling don’t jumble your jewelry pieces all together even in a protective jewelry case. This can cause scratches in the metal and will dull the polish over time.

  • Tarnish will occur over time and can be polished off with a soft jewelry polishing cloth.

  • Some jewelry has an applied patina or pre-darkened areas along with other polished areas. Over time these highlights may wear off dulling it’s beauty and contrast. Caring for your jewelry will help maintain its original luster and when necessary a professional polish and patina can do wonders!
